2024 was the first year of the newly redesigned 3rd generation of the Lexus GX series yet it carried forth with the body-on-frame construction which gives it a strong foundation.Its full-time 4wd drivetrain allows for seamless transitioning from asphalt to dirt and helps maintain traction/control. There is also a 2-speed transfer case for both general off-road and more demanding off-road driving.
Now powering this new GX lineup is the 3.4L turbocharged V6 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. It offers up to 349 HP, 479 lb-ft. of torque, and with information from Lexus, this GX 550 has a maximum towing capacity of 6,780 lbs. when properly equipped.
